Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario (PSSO) is seeking Special Events Assistants (Summer Placements) in London, Windsor, Owen Sound and Waterloo. Are you are a post-secondary student that is self-motivated but also thrives in a team environment? Do you enjoy working with volunteers and assisting with events?

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Assist in the growth and coordination of Walk for Parkinson's
  • Help to plan and implement fundraising opportunites
  • Recruit prizes and sponsors as required
  • Assist Walk for Parkinson's committee(s) and attend committee meetings
  • Recruit, organize and assist volunteers
  • Assist with recognition of donors and volunteers
  • Other relevant duties as assigned
  • Registered in a full-time post-secondary education program
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a diverse workload
  • Strong customer service focus with a sensitivity to the needs of people living with Parkinson’s
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use good judgment in working with confidential and sensitive information
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work on own as well as work as a team player
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel, access to a car and valid drivers license
