Dr. Philip Millar

Feeling Tired Without Slowing Down: Exercise, Fatigue and Parkinson’s Disease

Dr. Philip Millar is a Professor in the Department of Human Health Sciences at the University of Guelph. He completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees in the Department of Kinesiology at McMaster University and a postdoctoral fellowship in the Division of Cardiology at Toronto General Hospital. His integrative physiology laboratory has an interest in understanding the clinical benefits of exercise in people with Parkinson’s disease, including the understanding of fatigue as a disease symptom.

Markie Ryckman

Living Well with Parkinson’s Disease: How Occupational Therapy Can Help

Markie Ryckman is a registered Occupational Therapist with 10 years experience as an educator and clinician working in various clinical settings, most recently and notably in the community. Markie is an independent contractor that practices in the Haldimand County and Hamilton areas, and educates across Canada and internationally. Markie’s expertise includes assessing and prescribing mobility aids, specialized seating and sleeping surfaces, fall and fall injury prevention, environmental supports and modifications for home safety and accessibility, and environmental supports for memory deficits.
