Our Third Annual Living Well Conference Series officially kicks off on April 2026! This year’s conference is taking place on Tuesday April 21, 2026 in Leamington, Ontario.

Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario is fortunate to welcome Dr. Christopher Langley (to speak on the connection between Parkinson’s Disease and Urinary Health) as well as Mercedes Phalavong (to speak on Procedures of accessing Resources in the Home after being Diagnosed with Parkinson’s). This conference will also offer the opportunity to see demonstrations of programs in the West Region including: VON Smart Exercises, Dancing with Parkinson’s and Rock Steady Boxing!

Dr. Christopher Langley

Urologic Manifestations of Parkinson’s

Dr. Christopher Langley grew up in LaSalle, Ontario. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at The University of Windsor, and an MD from The University of Western Ontario. He then completed his residency in urologic surgery at University of Ottawa followed by a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery and endourology at McMaster University. Dr. Langley is a general urologist with a focus in prostate cancer, kidney stones, and minimally invasive surgery and works in both Chatham and Kingsville. In his spare time he enjoys reading (particularly Cold War era spy novels), golfing, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and dog.

Mercedes Phalavong

Navigating Community Supports and Preparations with a Chronic Illness

Mercedes Phalavong holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing from the University of Windsor. She currently works with clients and the community in her role within Patient Services at Ontario Health at Home.
