In this interactive webinar Tian Ip will lead us on an exploration of various methods within music psychotherapy that can help improve different Parkinsonian symptoms to enhance one’s quality of life. Together we’ll discover its impact on anxiety and depression, movement, cognition, voice, communication, social connectivity, physical activity and motivation. We’ll also discover how music can be used by carepartners as they provide support. During this overview, Tian will share a few case studies of the real life benefits of music psychotherapy.

Tian Ip is a Music Psychotherapist with over 25 years teaching experience in various teaching methods to bring the joy of learning in a productive, fun and encouraging way. 

Tian obtained her master’s of music therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Medal of Academic Excellence. She is currently continuing with her music therapy research for Parkinson’s disease, sponsored by PSSO, and working as a music psychotherapist at CareSpace Health+Wellness. She is also a church music director, music teacher, and professional musician. Aside from research in PD, Tian finds meaning working in paediatric palliative care.
