Calling all Carepartners!
Mark your calendars for November 14th for an empowering workshop designed for the carepartners of people with Parkinson’s. Join us for a day focusing on your needs – with speakers focusing on caregiver burnout and creative approaches to caregiving.
Join us for an opportunity to connect with other carepartners who share similar experiences, and learn strategies to prevent and cope with the pressures of caregiving without sacrificing your own mental health and well-being. Mid-afternoon coffee, tea, and snacks will be provided. Learn more about our speakers below!
Come ready to rejuvenate your caregiving journey, connect with others facing similar challenges, and discover innovative ways to bring joy and fulfillment to your role.

Join us for an educational, full-day workshop geared exclusively towards carepartners!

First we’ll hear from Katie Muirhead, Regional Lead with the Ontario Caregiver Organization. In her interactive presentation, “Finding Harmony: Combating Caregiver Stress While Honoring Your True Self” we will review the common challenges and stressors faced by carepartners, discuss strategies to support you, and participate in an activity that explores ways to maintain your own identity while providing care to others.

Then, we will be joined by Heather Reeves, an experienced yoga instructor who will take us through an invigorating chair yoga practice that will refresh our physical and mental health.

After a delicious lunch, we’ll have an hour to reflect and connect with other carepartners based on our shared experiences.

Speakers

Jenny Stapleton, our first presenter, will speak on the topic of ‘Breathing Therapy and Life Skills for practicing Self Care’. After a quick break, Christy Primer will present an encouraging talk entitled, ‘The 3 Es of Caregiving (Education, Empathizing, Empowering).
