Thank you for being part of Walk for Parkinson’s!  Thanks to all walkers, volunteers, donors, sponsors, and vendors for your support in helping to raise over $393,000 … and counting!

On September 10th and 11th, our exciting in-person walks returned across Southwestern Ontario and featured entertainment, food, prizes and more! Participants gathered in some of the region’s most beautiful parks to walk and raise awareness for Parkinson’s disease.

Across the region, from Owen Sound to Windsor, 1360 participants and 80 teams came together to support their loved ones and friends living with Parkinson’s disease. Everyone brought their enthusiasm and energy to make this event memorable for all involved!

These events would not be possible without the support of our amazing volunteer committee members, who worked tirelessly to organize and promote each walk. Thank you to all of our day-of event volunteers that made this event run smoothly.

To celebrate the success of Walk for Parkinson’s, we have created a video with highlights from each of our 14 walks. You can also check out the Galleries section of our website and PSSO’s Facebook page for additional photos from each walk.

To view the fundraising totals for each walk location, visit walkforpd.ca, click on Register and then click the location that you attended. The funds raised through Walk for Parkinson’s will stay local to support the people you care about who are living with Parkinson’s and their families. Your support means that Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario (PSSO) can invest funds in vital Parkinson’s programs and research to help improve the quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s in our community.

We also recognize our Local and Regional Walk Sponsors, for their unwavering support of Walk for Parkinson’s. Special thanks to our Regional Sponsors: Pattern Energy (Armow Wind, Belle River Wind, Grand Renewable Wind, North Kent Wind, South Kent Wind), NPX Innovation, Assante Wealth Management – Ross Mitton, Enterprise Holdings Foundation, and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada.

Mark your calendars for next year’s Walk for Parkinson’s, taking place on September 9th and 10th, 2023! We look forward to engaging with volunteers in the coming months to begin the planning process for next year. Thanks to all of you, we have so much momentum heading into 2023!
