“Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario has a wealth of information available for people with Parkinson’s and their caregivers.”

Meet Charles.
After the sudden loss of his brother, Charles noticed changes in his own health. A Parkinson’s diagnosis followed, and life shifted in ways he hadn’t imagined. Everyday tasks became challenging, and moments he once took for granted, walking, curling, even pushing a grocery cart, started to feel uncertain.

But Charles hasn’t let Parkinson’s define him. He leans on his wife, friends, and the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario for support and guidance. He also finds energy and connection in his Parkinson’s boxing group, where everyone understands what it’s like to live with the disease.

“Parkinson’s touches more than just the person diagnosed,” he reflects. “It affects caregivers and loved ones too. We navigate it together, leaning on each other whenever we can.”

Charles keeps moving forward, choosing connection, support, and community every day, and showing that Parkinson’s doesn’t have to stop life from being meaningful.
