Come join us for a coffee with people with Parkinson’s disease (PD), carepartners, community members and police officers who share one goal – to ensure that the community is safe and accessible.
We have learned that common symptoms of PD have been misunderstood for intoxication which has led to unnecessary 911 calls. We raised our concerns to our Community Resource Officer, Paul Hinchcliffe and he has pulled together a discussion panel that includes the Traffic, Fraud, and Elder Abuse Units, the IMPACT team, Wellness Coordinator and the Chief of Police.
We understand that the thought of being in a room full of police officers could be intimidating, but Paul has created a safe, confidential, judgement-free zone for us to have a conversation, advocate for ourselves, and get some answers.
Your voice is extremely important and we really hope that you’ll join us for “Coffee with a Cop.”
