Synopsis
Discussion of various aspects to be considered when determining whether medical cannabis would be a suitable option in the management of Parkinson’s Disease (PD) symptoms. This presentation will include the history of cannabis for therapeutic purposes including a review of the science, description of cannabinoids, administration methods, dosing, potential side effects and possible drug interactions with special emphasis on PD treatment.
Speaker Biography
Dr. Robert Sealey, B.Sc. M.D.
Since 2001, Dr. Sealey has been involved in both the clinical and research aspects of medical cannabis including a substitution approach for other medications as a novel approach to harm reduction.
Given his experience, thousands of patients across Canada have been referred to Dr. Sealey for the consideration of cannabinoid-based therapy management in conditions that have not responded to standard therapy.
Sensing a void in knowledge and misinformation regarding the use of medical cannabis in clinical practice, Dr. Sealey has also travelled around the world as an invited keynote speaker at numerous public and professional events.
