Newly Diagnosed Series

Receiving a Parkinson’s diagnosis can be an overwhelming and uncertain time. The Newly Diagnosed Series is a four-week virtual program designed to help individuals recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s feel more supported, informed, and empowered as they begin navigating life with the condition.

This free series combines structured education with open, guided discussion in a safe and confidential
group setting. Participants will connect with peers who are also adjusting to a new diagnosis, explore
practical strategies for living well, and learn about support options available through Parkinson Society
Southwestern Ontario (PSSO) and the broader community.

The group is facilitated by trained Social Work students from King’s University College and is not clinical therapy or medical consultation, but rather a supportive space to share, learn, and build confidence in the early stages of the Parkinson’s journey.
