Move Bold is returning this September! Let’s move with purpose. Train with joy. Reclaim your confidence and strength.
This specialized movement class is designed to help you feel better through movement while mitigating Parkinson’s symptoms. We will meet you where you are at each and every class. We will focus on what matters most: keeping you strong, steady, and confident in your daily life.
What to Expect
Each session is thoughtfully structured to challenge your body and brain in ways that directly challenge Parkinson’s symptoms:
Seated Foundation: We begin seated to warm up safely and build confidence. You’ll work on coordination drills, postural awareness, and controlled movements that wake up your nervous system. These exercises keep your brain engaged while establishing the movement patterns we’ll use throughout class.
Standing Functional Work: Progress to standing exercises focusing on real-world movements—the ones you use every day.
We emphasize:
- BIG, exaggerated movements to counteract the small, shuffling patterns Parkinson’s can create
- Gait training with varied speeds, directions, and challenges to improve walking confidence
- Balance and vestibular work through head movements, weight shifts, and multi-directional exercises
- Functional strength using light weights (completely optional) to support independence in daily activities
Our Core Principles
Safety First: Every exercise includes modifications. Move at your level, rest when needed, and progress at your pace.
Challenge with Support: We intentionally challenge your balance and coordination in a controlled, safe environment—this is where growth happens.
Big and Bold: Fight Parkinson’s tendency toward smaller movements by thinking BIG, moving BIG, and being deliberate.
